I want to insert a two decimal place in the cell automatically every time I
enter a number. For example, when I type 2345 in a cell, I want it to change
to 23.45
Is there anyway to format the cell with applying any formula?

In pre xl2007 I would goto tools>options>edit tab, and place a check mark in
"Fixed decimal" and set the "Places" to 2. Now if you enter 2345 you get
23.45. But remember if you want 250 and not 2.50 you must enter 25000.

Hope this helps

Hi,

In 2007 the command is Office Button, Excel Options, Advanced, check
Automatically insert a decimal point (in the Editiong options area) and set
Places to 2.

But remember if you want 250 and not 2.50 you must enter 25000.

You can also enter 250 then a decimal point to return 250

The decimal point will be ignored.

You don't miss much, do ya. <bg> I knew that but missed it!!!! thanks for
posting "the rest of the answer". I am sure the op appreciates it and I
definately do. (Cuz I hate "half an answer").

Thanks again

Finger-poking is my method of typing.
