Inserting background image in word

I am currently trying to insert a image into a word document which will appear as a back ground, as I am creating a letter head template. I am struggling to achieve this with out the image being editable by other users.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi Martin,

If you put the image in the document's header or footer, that would make it
harder for users to 'edit' accidentally.

If, instead of inserting the image directly into the document (embedding),
you use an INCLUDEPICTURE or LINK field to insert a link to the image, then
the users can't directly edit the image from within the Word document
(though they could still delete it). Again, putting the field into the
header or footer makes it harder to do this.

Another option might be to put the image into its own section, which you
could protect.

Cheers

Thanks for the help. I have already put the images in header and footer however it takes to much space up. will try your other suggestions

Of course it takes up space - it's a background! That's the whole idea. Set
the image layout in the header as 'behind text'!
