Inserting a "Slide" Break

A slide has too much text. How can I insert a "slide break" (not the
correct name) such that the text below the cursor is moved to a new
slide? In Word, this function is called a manual page break.

mcp6453,
There is no such thing as a page break in PowerPoint.
There is the possibility to move text to the next slide when typing in a
placeholder with bulleted text. When typing too much text in a placeholder a
little icon will appear at the bottom allowing you to split up the text in
two slides or continuing on the next slide. You will find the feature in the
Tools - AutoCorrection options - Autoformat as you type tab. You can disable
it there if you don't like it. Mind, this does not work in textboxes you
draw yourself.
You can always duplicate the slide and remove the superfluous text. Not a
great help, I know.

Also, for existing text, such as a cut & paste from another source,
entering a blank line where a 'slide break' is desired and pressing
Shift-Tab while positioned on the blank line in the Outline panel in
edit mode will create a new slide that contains the text below the
break.
