inserted object loses transparent background

I am trying to understand why an object I am inserting into PP2007 is coming
in with a white background. In this instance, my object is a Word 2007 table.
I use insert> object> browse to file.

I have done this many times and the background is always transparent. For
some reason, not so in this instance. I have gone into Word to verify that I
have table shading set to none.

Any ideas on why this is occurring and how to fix it?

Hi Cayce,

Just right click the object and right click to get a pop up with Format
Object option.
Click on Format Object -> Colors and Lines and check for Fill option.
Hopefully this is white as background. Just change it to NO FILL.

Hope this helps.

Nope..this has no effect. When I open the format object dialog, it shows no
color is already set. For grins, I selected all the row in the table that
should have transparent background and selected no color from the font menu
on the home tab. It too makes no difference.

A curious thing, I have continued to experiment after I first posted this
issue. This problem appears intermittently. On another occasion, I simply
copy/pasted (not paste special) the Word table. Then it came in transparent.
Subsequently, I copy/pasted (not paste special), it had white background.

Hmmm..I wonder if I have uncovered a software bug.
