I get strange messages...."could not load an object because it is not
available on this machine" . I posted earlier about removing an old music
track, which I was able to do with the help of tohlz. Now, after inserting
the new track, the slides won't advance....grant you, I haven't used PPT in
several months, but I've done several other slide shows with no problems. Do
I need an update? Thanks for any advice.

Don't mess with Mothra, Steve...LOL. This is the computer that the slide show was created on. I uninstalled and reinstalled it, to no avail. How can I remove the control? And what about the fact that the slides won't advance while the music is playing? Thanks for your help.

Mothra,
For the slides not advancing problem, check out this entry from Steve's PPT

Try opening the presentation then opening the VBA editor by pressing ALT+F11
Under the name of the presentation (in the list at the left) see if any slides
are listed. If so, that's the slide(s) with controls embedded.

You'll need to delete the slide and re-create it. You might try to select all
the content that's obviously NOT controls and paste it to a new slide first to
save some time.

If that doesn't help, try "round-tripping" the presentation to HTML:

HTML "Round-tripping" to repair corruption

I'll leave the sound vs animation question to one of the experts in that area,
'kay?

And what about the fact that the slides won't advance while the music is
playing? Thanks for your help.
