Inserted images/ pictures don't appear in document

I'm using word 2007 and when I insert images into the document I can't see
them- can't adjust them
 
Hi Ripples,

If you're in 'Draft' view, try switching to Print Layout view. If you're in Print Layout view check
Office Button=>Word Options=>Advanced (Alt, T, O, A)
and in 'Show Document content' turn off [x] Show Picture Placeholders.
