insert .wma music files

When I try to insert .wma music files into a slide in Powerpoint 2002, I get a message saying Powerpoint cannot insert this type of file into a slide. Please advise. Thanks
 
The following may be help,
1. Upgrade DirectX to the latest version.
2. Install Windows Media codec 9 or Windows Media Player 9 Series .
