Hi - (Word 2002)

When I insert a symbol (in various fonts), the symbol plus an accompanying
character will appear (i,e,.ï or, most commonly, ÿ ). When I insert the
symbol with Character Map, only the symbol appears.

How to stop the extra character from appearing?
Thank you.

Thank you for answering. No, I am not using the Asian fonts. Not using any
'exotic' fonts at all.

I don't know. Your copy of Word thinks you are using double-byte (Asian)
fonts. Are you?
