Can anyone tell me the difference between what happens behind the scenes of a
Create New and Create From File? If you select Adobe Acrobat Document, they
both give the browse capability. The Create From File seems to pull in file
associations.

Generally speaking, Create New should create a new embedded object,
and Create from File should insert an existing file as an object; but
note that what happens, exactly, might depend on the application where
the inserted object was created.
