Insert Interactive Button has stopped working

I'm using FP2003 and have successfully used interactive buttons many times.

Now the insert interactive button feature has stopped working - nothing
happens when I click on interactive button from the insert menu or when I
click on the interactive button icon on the toolbar. Nor I cannot edit
interactive buttons that I've previously created.

I've tried reinstalling but that didn't fix the issue.

Any advice welcome.

Check Tools page Options Authoring
- JavaScript needs to be enabled

In Tools, Page Options, Authoring JavaScript/JScript is greyed out. (Java
applets is ticked)

I've tried altering the FrontPage and SharePoint technplogies settings and
got the JavaScript/JScript box to be highlighted and ticked but Insert
Interactive Button still doesn't work.

Any further advice would be welcome.
