insert files into word docs

how do you insert files into word docs? The insert options for Word 2007 do
not include dara files, even other Word files.

On the Insert ribbon, click the Object button and then click "Text from file" in
the dropdown.
 
thanks Jay. But if you hadn't told me, how would I have known? It's totally
amazing to me that such a basic insert option, which Word has offered since
it was first put out, should be so subtly hidden. You have to not only select
an unlabeled icon, but know that after you select it, you still have to go to
'create from file.' For such a basic move, at least they could have a 'file'
option on the insert ribbon. But these guys are not writers, I guess.
