Insert excel data

I need to insert excel data into a powerpoint slide, however it keeps getting
cut off.
(Roughly A:30 to J:30)

I have tried copying and pasting, inserting an object, inserting a file,
double clicking on the data once inserted, however the last row of text (row
J) is missing from my presentation.

When I try and resize the item, it just stretches the current selection
until it is out of proportion. Can I nominate the selected cells I want
copied into the powerpoint slide?

I'm stumped! Any suggestions?

Forgive me for asking, but why would you want to put so many numbers on a
PowerPoint slide. Are you planing on printing it? If you're planning on
putting it on a screen, no one will be able to read it.

It's for a presentation of a dashboard report.
When projected on screen, the cells can be read clearly. The strange thing
is, we have done this in the past in previous business reviews (ie. previous
versions of the same document).

If the pre-2000 problem isn't the issue, you may have success by reducing the
font size and row size in Excel. Also, in another context (transferring data
from Excel to AutoCAD), I've had success copying and pasting to Word first,
and then from Word to Excel.

Yes, it is Excel 2000 and Powerpoint 2000. This is the only version my
employer supports.
