Innaccessible Hard Drive

I forgot to mention that the operating system on the faulty drive is Windows
XP Home edition and I am inserting the drive as a slave into a Windows XP
Pro environment. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a hard drive that will not boot up. I am able however to load it into
another PC and set it up as a slave. I was going to backup all the profiles
onto the PC and then put the faulty disk back into the other PC, and
re-install the operating system, then copy the backup across to the newly
formatted hard drive. The problem is that some of the users have setup
access passwords on their profiles and when I try to copy the data I am told
that I cannot access it. Is there anyway around this issue?

Thanks
