ink levels

can anyone tell me how to get to the feature that shows
the ink levels on an epson printer, with windows xp
software ?

If the printer is more than a few years old (and next time, identify the
model of your printer), not with "windows xp software." Try going to
http://www.epson.com/ and see if a WinXP driver is available there.
Advice on this NG suggests removing old printer drivers before

You may be able to find an xp driver from Epson (then
again you may not). The driver for your printer in Xp's
database will work fine. However, advanced features,such
as the ink monitor simply are not there. I had the same
problem with an Epson 440 printer. Actually, I did find an
Xp driver for the printer, but for some reason, it would
not install correctly (yes I followed the instructions).
After installing the driver, I rebooted & Xp insisted on
intalling it's own driver anyways. So I had 2 drivers on
the system, & neither had the ink monitor. Go figure!
