initial run problems with XP

Hi,

I just purchased a new CELERON PC with Windows XP loaded
already. When I got home I connected it up to my ACER 34T
monitor and turned it on. It seems to come up fine but I
can't make out anything on the screen. It is blurry and
completely illegible.

When I re-hooked my monitor up to the old PC it continues
to work just fine.

Any suggestions on what I can do to get this working?

If it is a question of installing a driver is there a way I
can do that without being able to view what is on the monitor?

Any help would be appreciated.
 
Boot into safe mode on the new system and check the
advanced settings in the display properties. Lower the
refresh rate of the screen and the resolution if necessary.
