Initial instance of IE 6 does not resolve addresses

If I open IE 6 and type in any address (say
www.yahoo.com) and click the "Go" arrow, IE does not
connect.

However, if I open a second instance of IE 6 and do the
same it connects very quickly.

Any thoughts?

Figured it out. 3rd Party spyware "search bar" was
installed. Removed that (and then removed the registry
entry that prompted to reinstall after every reboot), and
everything works fine again.
