Initial Boot Display ?

I was given an old emachines computer. When I start the boot, I get a
HP welcome. Is there any way to kill this? And from whence does it
originate? The MOBO?

It'd be in the BIOS as something like "Show Splash Screen". Not all
chipsets will let you change this though.
