I can't seem to get Excel to accept the lower case text: "e.g." or
"i.e." instead it insists on capitalizing the first letter to "E.g."
and "I.e"

It can be corrected in spellcheck but how can I avoid that hassle
every time?

Any ideas much appreciated.

Thanks

Rod

Uncheck the Tools/Autocorrect/Capitalize first letter of sentences
checkbox.

Mmmm.

Just can't work out how Excel sees the "i" in "i.e." as the first
letter in a sentence when you have a sentence of "This is an example
i.e. of something"

If possible would like to keep the initialing of first letter feature.

Thanks for any more help

Regards

Rod

Well, "I" is a an English word, referring to self. If the word is
followed by a punctuation mark, Autocorrect will consider it a sentence
and capitalize the first (and only) letter.
