Autocorrect in Outlook 2003

The Autocorrect function in Outlook 2003 (part of MS Office 2003 Pro) has
stopped working on one PC without any apparent reason.
All options for the functionality is properly checked - e.g. to
correct-as-I-type and capitalize-first-letter-of-sentences. But it don't
work.
Does not affect overall functionality but would like to get this back in
action. Sometimes I need help!
regards and TIA.

Are you using Word or the built-in editor when composing mail?

Does autocorrect work properly when just using Word to compose a document?

Works perfectly in Word - it is only in Outlook that the functionality seems
to be dead. Tried changing the default editor within Outlook, also tried a
repair install of MS office 2003 Pro, and then also turned off all
auto-correct options and restarted application - re-enabled all, disabled
and re-enabled within Word itself; all to no avail!
Somewhat of a bother, this.

Were Word and Outlook installed from the same suite?
