have in my ADD/remove window , about
12 Windows xp Hotfix and 15 Windows xp windows hotfix SP2.
What is that and can they be deleted ?

You don't want to delete these Hotfixes. They are the critical updates and
bug fixes that you have installed from the Windows Update website.

You can, however remove the entries from the Add and Remove dialog box, if
they bother you.

Go to Start/Run and type: Regedit and click OK. Navigate to the
following Key.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall

Each program listed in Add and Remove Programs has a subkey listed here.
Locate the correct subkey for the hotfix and right click/select Delete.

You might want to export the key first, in case you make an error.

Leave them alone! They are Operating System changes which mostly affect
system security. You need them. There is a way to just remove the entry
from the Control Panel [I do not recommend that]. If interested in that,
post a question to the Windows XP General Newsgroup.
