Info regarding laptop graphics drivers.

I've got a feeling what the answer is, but i'll ask anyways.

I've got a Compaq Presario R3000, using an ATI Radeon Mobility 9000IGP chip.
Problem is this, I'd like to update my drivers for it, but unfortunately
Compaq are very slow at updating them. Compaq's drivers haven't been
changed since March and god knows how many times ATI have changed the
drivers.

So the burning question is, how long does it take Compaq to modify the
drivers, and if so, when are the next drivers ready. (i'm getting p***ed off
with HL2 keep asking for new drivers, when I can't install them.)

Do a search for Dhmodtool, it modifies the official drivers to install
on laptops.

Sounds a bit risky, I take it you've had reasonable success with it?

I Used it on my laptop with no problems [Sony Vaio Radeon IGP 340 ]
All it modifies is the .inf files.
