infinite restart loop after winxpsp1 repair install

I need help!

At first, while performing repair install, the computer stops
responding at about 34 minutes remaining even I waited for more than 2
hours it still hang in there. So I reboot the pc and pressed F5 to run
the setup in a debug mode and the frustraring "34 minutes remaining"
problem was solved and completed the installation.

But not really.

The computer always restarts before the Windows Logo and after the BIOS
check. And I don't know how to get the computer back to work again. I
hope there's no serious problem with my data and registry files.

Anyone here for help, please?

First, you dont do a "repair" of xp in IE,it cant repair itself if its in
use...
You need to "repair" xp in the installation option when you boot to the xp
cd,or select "new copy"...From a uncompleted repair as the mode youre
in,boot to xp cd (you may need to adjust for this in the BIOS-priority boot
device or similiar),once at xp cd boot menu, try, repair this copy, but if it
was mine,id reinstall (new copy)....

More ridiculous "help" from Andrew E.

To the OP:

I'm assuming you saw this MS KB article:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;828267&Product=winxp

It means that XP is having some problem with at least one of your
hardware components. There is no way for me to know which one from
here. As far as your data goes, you should have backed it up before you
started. Now you need to retrieve it. You can do this by using a rescue
system such as Knoppix, a Bart's PE, or ERD Commander (very expensive).
Based on your post, I am going to guess that the best solution for you
will be to take the machine to a professional computer repair shop (not
your local version of BigStoreUSA). They can retrieve your data and
either find out what the problem is and/or do a clean install of
Windows for you.
