Oh, you poor baby -- does your girlfriend know you are a pro? <g>

She's the one using the system. Honestly, I prefer the system I built
some years ago.
Ah -- well, I guess you should have gotten Microsoft to procure for you
a better set of hardware so that you would be appropriately pleasured.

Indeed :)

Girl geek. Hot one, if I do say.

Ah -- well that works.

Wait though, if she's a geek, what's she doing running Vista??? <smile>

Nope, it's only using one of the cards.

Pete,

Many others and I use SLI with Vista and have done so for a very long
time.

Why you are experiencing SLI conflicts is a very isolated situation,
historically user induced.

You obviously, in all your beta testing, never tested games in Vista with
OneCare, did you? When OneCare wants to check for updates, no matter if
you're playing a full-screen game or not, it checks for updates and it does
it often and that causes the screen to freeze. And heaven forbid it find a
large update to get. It locked me up in a game for over 5 minutes a couple
weeks ago.

Thanks, Mike,
I didn't think Vista had been out there "for a very long time." Less than
five months. Now if someone will come up with a driver for my Lexmark X6170
printer I'll be a happy camper. Except for the fact that Windows Mail will
not empty the deleted email folder ... LOL

Have you tried using a driver that comes bundled with Vista thats closest
the Lexmark X6170.

Hi Andre,
No, I haven't. It seems to me that when I got my printer it said not to plug
it in until after I had installed the software ... I've been wondering about
Vista's "plug & play" abilities and what would happen if I just plugged it
in??? I bought a mouse for this laptop because the touch pad was making me
crazy, and before I could install the software, Vista did it for me. So am
wondering if I should just plug in the printer and see what happens ... but I
don't want to damage my printer. Any techy people out there who can tell me?
The printer is a USB printer ...Lexmark X6170 and computer is a new Toshiba
laptop with Vista. I've been having fun fumbling around finding my around 'in
here."

You can't damage a printer just by hooking it up.

Well unless of course the printer already had damage to begin with.

You would have to unplug it and plug it back in.
