indicate last date a document was modified in the document itself

I have a big document, and I would like the date of the most recent
modification to appear on the front page, either in the body of the document,
or in a header or footer.

Can I do this with VBA? Or is there a simpler way?

I've used VBA in Excel before, but never in Word, so I'm not really sure
where to start.

Thanks.

You can insert a SAVEDATE field (Insert | Field), but note that it may not
update automatically (will update on printing). See
