Transfer text from header/footer into body of document

I was experimenting with a 70 page document in OpenOffice and it
slammed a good half of every page into a header or a footer. I do not
want to delete this text, but I want it in the body of the document,
not in a header or footer. Is there a way to quickly do this?

And that's why we here use MSWord rather than OpenOffice ... surely
there's a similar forum for asking OO questions.

Surely there's someone here who can tell me how to take text from a
header into the body. I want to do this in MS Word. If I wanted to do
it with OpenOffice I would have gone to an OpenOffice forum.

You described an OO problem. What is your question about Word?

After a near heart attack, I realized that the header was the same
block of text, repeated on 30-40 different pages, so I just deleted
it. Problem solved.
