Indexing service windows update

Windows update, downloaded some programme that installed a magnifying glass
icon in the task bar called Indxing Service which appears to have replaced
'Find'

How do I get rid of this and revert to what I had before?

Sorry, I found how to uninstall it, but meanwhile another download that I
wanted to uninstal also, has disappeared from Add/Remove
programmes:Microsoft Base Smart Card Cryptographic Service Provider (CSP)

Culd it be that by uninstalling Window Search 4.0 the later downlod was also
uninstalled automatically?
