Can Word automatically create a key word index with page numbers at the end
of a transcript

Kinda / Sorta - you have to provide the list of keywords that you want Word
to look for. Then Word can go through your document and provide the
necessary page numbers. See
http://word.mvps.org/faqs/formatting/createindexcontent.htm for
instructions.

To use existing text as an index entry, select the text. To enter your own
text as an index entry, click where you want to insert the index entry.
Press ALT+SHIFT+X.
To create the main index entry, type or edit the text in the Main entry box.
Then go to insert in the main menu, select reference then index and click
yes on the index tab.
