I have an e-machine system that will not play my video games that it played
before i took it in for servicing.It downloads the game to the hard drive but
when i try to run the game to play it the system displays that indeo codec is
needed.Sometimes it plays for awhile then when it gets to movie clip in the
game the notice pops back up.

So, spring $14.95 for the Indeo codecs. It was one of the best investments
I've made in my system in several years.

All the Indeo codecs were free for download before Ligos bought them.
They were free for awhile until Ligos modified one of them afterwhich
they then charged you for all of them and not just for their modified
versions. Ligos had to redistribute the codecs for free when they were
Indeo's code but could start charging for their own; however, they don't
package the free Indeo old-code codecs separate of their paid package
containing their modified codecs.

Check the install CD for the game. You might find an iv5play.exe or
iv5setup.exe file that is used to install the older set of Indeo codecs.
If you can't find a separate install file, download them from
http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Indeo_Codec.htm. The 5.11 versions
of the Indeo codecs should works for you without you having to pay Ligos
to get their verion 5.2 Windows XP specific codecs.
