Increasing Volume

We have a laptop and just added MSN Streets & Trips w/GPS. It's great except
that even with the volume controls maxed out, it is difficult to hear voice
commands over the noise of the vehicle while going down the road. Is there
any way to boost the volume level provided with the laptop. Don't really
want to attach external speakers . . .a bit messy when traveling!

Thanks

I don't think so....if it's maxed out in your speakers applet, it's maxed
out. There are plenty of small speakers, but you want powered speakers if
you want decent sound. Or headphones, but those are, er, probably not the
best idea while driving.

Use a cassette adaptor or one of the FM tuner
devices to play the sounds through your car stereo.

They're small.

Thanks for the post. Your idea sounds like a great solution. Are these
readily available at places like Best Buy or ??? --

Great idea - sorry I hadn't thought of it!

Only prob. is when you want to listen to
music as well...not an issue when the music is
also being played on your laptop, etc. through
the converter.
