Increasing Partition size

I presently have a 40G hard drive partitioned into three sectors, Dual boot
with XP Pro on D:10G and Win98 on C:20G, Partition E: 10G that I use for
storage and backup data files.
I also have one other harddrive that I would like to move the contents of E:
to, freeing up E. Is there some utility program, to increase the size of
Drive D, using Drive E space so
Drive D becomes 20G, in WinXP that will not corrupt or destroy either
operating system. I'd like to be able to do this without having to
re-install both OS's. I'm using Fat32.

Thanks,
DMB

OMG I just read this over for the 3rd time and don't know if I understand
what I'm asking....hope someone there does.

The only way you can create, delete, resize or merge existing partitions,
and not harm your existing Windows installation, is to purchase and use
a third-party partitioning program such as Partition Magic 8.

PartitionMagic (PM) should do all you want. It can even move entire
partitions. Even though it is incredibly safe, DO back up all the data
first. S... does happen.
I have been using it for years with no problems and it includes BootMagic
which is a very nice program for multibooting, even across harddrives, if
you get the very latest version. It's now owned by Symantec. Some people
don't like them, but PM is not their product, they just aquired the
company in December, last year.

Be very careful. Backup everthing on the drive. I've
tested a few 3rd party progs like PM8 and they don't
always work. Once in a while they'll pretty much destroy
your HD and render all or part of it useless without some
serious restoration.

As others have said, partition magic will do the job, there are also free
ware apps floating around that will do the same, partition manager and
partition commander are two I have also used in the past (IIRC one of those
wouldnt work on NTFS).

As with any such application, backup all your data first (certainly anything
that you cannot replace) but you do that anyway, right?

FWIW this morning i repartitioned someones hard drive that was set into a
C&D, shrinking the D from 20 to 16, moving it up the disk and then
increasing the C from 4 to 8. Took about 15/20 mins. Did it with PM which
has never let me down yet <touches wood>.

It generally helps things along if you defrag first but with the situation
you describe, that probably isnt necessary . Deleting a partition and
extending one into the free space should take about 5 mins of which 4 will
be checking disk integrity.

Third party boot managers. The classic choice is partition Magic - and
an older version 7 would do it with FAT 32, or I use BootIT NG, from
