Increased boot up time

From boot to arriving at User Name window now takes me about 3 min 30 secs.
Otherwise PC works fine as before.
Before I'm pretty sure it was under a minute.

Boot to "Intel Inside Pentium 4 " logo takes approx 2 min 10 secs.
Screen blank for 2 secs
Windows XP logo for approx 10 secs
Screen blank approx 1 min 10 secs
Arrive at User Name window.

The last time I had logged on OK (24hrs ago) I was copying and pasting text
into a Word doc from an astronomy discussion forum. Every thing froze, I hit
control/alt/delete and ended AOL Task.

Uhm... isn't this part before the OS?

Any Error Reports in Event Viewer?

Make an exact note of the precise text of any error message. Minor
discrepancies can
make it harder to search for information about the error message.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Administrative Tools,
Event Viewer.
When researching the meaning of the error, information regarding Event
ID, Source
and Description are important.

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double
click on the
error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a button
resembling two
pages. Double click the button and close Event Viewer. Now start your
message
(email) and do a paste into the body of the message. This will paste the
info from the
Event Viewer Error Report complete with links into the message. Make
sure this is
the first paste after exiting from Event Viewer.
