Increase time for modem negotiation for Dialup connection?

Hi,

When I attempt to dial up a specific ISP, I get an error
678 (Remote computer did not respond) after a short
interval...15 seconds. I would like to increase the
amount of time that Dialup Networking attempts to make
the connection before giving up. My hunch is that the
remote computer hasn't been given enough time. Is there
a way to extend the time that my computer attempts to
make a connection? I do not see it in any of the
properties for that connection, nor in the modem settings
in Control Panel.

Yes your probably right. Alot of ISPs are now enforcing more complex
negotiation schemes during authentication.

You can change this by going to the actual dialup connection, select
properties and go to advanced options to adjust the redial rate/time before
redial settings.
