Incorrectly showing non-address book addresses!

Hi,

Ever since I upgraded to Windows XP, my Outlook now seems
to "suggest" email addresses in the "To" field from
somewhere other than the correct ones in my address book.

This is a big problem because several people I write to
have changed their email addresses and unless I'm very
careful it will suggest both and I may choose the wrong
one. For example, there's someone named Daniel Lastname
in my address book and the address book has his correct
name and email address. However, if I type "Daniel" in
the "To" field, it will suggest:

Daniel Lastname
'Daniel Lastname'

The first choice gives me his OLD email address (which
used to be in the book) the one with the quotes gives me
the new address (the one currently in the book). I can't
find any settings to shut this off.

Similarly, I just got married and changed my name, so I
think my boss has now three choices for me, including new
name name, old name, and a client who once CCed me and
misspelled my name, even though I'm in his address book
once! It's like the system is using your inbox or sent
mail to guess addresses instead of just using your up-to-
date address book. How can I turn this "feature" off or
minimize its impact?

Also, I feel like I might have had this problem in
Windows 98, but that when I first chose between the
two "entries" the system then always remembered the right
one to use from then on. I can't do that now.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Teresa

Remove individual addresses from the autocompletion cache by highlighting
the entry when presented in the suggested names list (use your arrow key to
migrate to the entry) and then hitting your Delete key before you tab out of
the field. To clear the entire cache, follow the instructions here:
