Incorporated Microphone on a Laptop

I have been checking on my control panel/ sounds and audio devices/voice/
voice recording/ Test hardware. My microphone volume does not show any
movement. There is check mark on the microphone under Recording Control
panel. Clicking right under on “Advanced", you will see both Bass and Treble
are gray and MIC Boots and Front Panel Microphone are both checked.
I would like to be able to fix that annoying situation. No one can hear me
on the IPO phone internet or on MSN Messenger…
Can you help? Thank you.

Make sure your microphone works try it on another computer, make sure it is
in the correct slot.
start, control panel, sound and audio devices, under volume, put a check
mark in place volume icon in the task bar, now go to the icon by the clock
double click on it when opened, you should be in volume control, click on
options go to properties, make sure there is a check mark in microphone and a
dot in playback, hit ok, back in vloume control hit options again and put a
check mark beside advanced, now do you see on the volume control, the header
'microphone' put a check mark in mute, and hit advanced and put a check mark
in 1 microphone boost hit close. close volume control, and now navigate to
msn messenger and go to audio wizard and follow instructions. Should this not
work you might have to update your audio drivers, perhaps you can contact the
laptop manuf....for further assistence. please post your results.
