Jim

I might have a bit of a mess. I installed a second hard
drive and was using the partitioning utility on my xp
install disk to create some new partitions. Unfortunately,
I was not paying attention and it began installing a second
operating system on my second drive. I stopped it, but now
when I boot, I am given 2 choices of xp to start in the
boot menu. The first (and default) selection happens to be
the incomplete install, so the system tries to load, fails,
and hangs. How do I remove this incomplete install so my
system can boot unattended again? Thanks for any help.

Hi Jim,

Go to Start/Run and type in: msconfig
Then go to the Boot.ini Tab and click on Check All Boot Paths. If you
receive a warning about a duplicate path: Do you want to remove, choose
yes.

Or...

Right click the My Computer icon/Properties/Advanced/Startup and
Recovery/Settings/System Startup/Edit.
