Incomplete installations of anything

I've been trying to install my printer...had problems installed updates from ms website...I still can't install and call manufacturer...had to buy another printer (HP as of yesterday) I'm getting message that the install can not complete and I must load Service Pack #1. (Which was installed on my computer already) I tried to reinstall Service Pack from web-site and it will not complete installation. At one point it said to reinstall the emergency fix on the CD. I do not have the product ID eventhough this is a legal computer...(I bought it as an OEM install with Service pack !) I will adventually get the product ID from manufacturer/builder of computer. Please ADvise

go to yahoo and seach for belarc and dowload the free
advisor and run it and you should get the product Id
