Incompatibility with Windows Powershell beta

It appears the the Windows Defender beta 2 is incompatible with Windows
Powershell beta. You will receive the following error:

“Windows Defender was unable to complete the update: 0x800b0100 No signature
was present in the subjectâ€

Uninstall Windows Powershell beta and voila... the update works.

I saw a couple of messages related to this in the .signatures group earlier
today. So, I downloaded the latest Powershell beta and installed it. I was
a beta tester for Monad, so I've had it installed before, but it looks like
I had removed it.

Anyway, after installing it and running it once, I went to Help, About, in
Windows Defender, and did a check for updates. I saw just the normal two
balloons, with a no updates available message.

So--I'm not sure what's going on here. What build of Windows Defender are
you running? (top version number in Help, About.)

I can't confirm this issue. I installed the currently available Powershell
beta on my home machine, and it updated properly the last time around, and I
don't get any error message when attempting an update via help, about, check
for updates. However, in my case the update came in through
MicrosoftUpdate--since I was doing Tuesday's security patches (a bit late)
anyway.

I have the same version. I already had Powershell installed when I installed
Defender. It was an "upgrade" from the Anti Spyware beta. I got the error,
found an article on some blog about this issue, uninstalled Powershell and
the update worked.

What happens if you reinstall Powershell?

I know that we are looking at this issue. Can you provide detailed repro
steps if you still see the problem after reinstalling.
