incomming plain text messages are reformatted.

Dear all,

I'm using microsoft outlook 2003 (11.8217.8221) SP3 (on XP
professional) since this week and ran into the following issue.
Incoming plain text mails are reformatted to something different (when
I paste it to word it says Arial).
Under Tool-Options-Mail format-Fonts I have put everything to Palatino
except the plain one, that should be currier new 10 but my plain mails
are re-formatted to other font (Arial doing the test I describe
above).

I have Word 2003 to edit e-mail messages (need to for live meeting)
and the general settings in Word for E-mail Options are the same as I
have set on Outlook.

My incoming plain text mails are still changed (other font) i.e. the
currier new I want and have defined.

Has anyone a clue what happens here and what I can do to solve the
problem?

Thanks in advance!

If you change the font for your Plain Text settings in something completely
different (let's use "Wingdings"), do the changes reflect correctly then?
The pasting method is not reliable as it could take over the current style
within Word.

Robert,

That's true, after changing to windigs it did activate that one
either.
I had it set-up well (on my old pc) until I start using this new pc
that has (also MS outlook 2003) a bit newer release.
The text in the plain text mails are badly aligned, like you design a
piece of text in courier and then change it all to times new roman.
Everything changes.
So I can define what font I want for plain text mails but it wil not
apply whatsoever.... :-(

Best regards,

Ronald.

Pleae don't multipost.

Why not?
There are different groups isn't it. Otherwise one group should do.

But, has anyone a clue what the reason of this issue is?
I would be very happy with any help on this.

Ronald.

Resuming again:

"I'm using microsoft outlook 2003 (on XP professional) since this week

Incoming plain text mails are not align anymore as they should be (and
where before).
Under Tool-Options-Mail format-Fonts I have put everything to Palatino
except the plain one, that should be currier new 12 but my plain mails
are displayed totally differen (as the where in other font).
If I copy-paste the text to a word document and chage the font (in
word) to currier new then everything looks as it should be."

Then you crosspost, not multipost. The former requires a real newsreader.
