Incoming VPN on Vista Ultimate

I go through the new incoming connection wizard, and it stops stating that
"Windows could not create your connection". and that "Incomming connections
depend on the Routing and Remote Access service, which was unable to start.
For more information, check the system event log."

Now the funny thing is in the event log I can see the service start, and
then stop immediately.

So, I check the system event log and it gives me the following:

The routing and Remote Access service terminated with service-specific error
183 (0xB7).
Log Name: System
Source: Service Control Manager Eventlog Prov
Event ID: 7024
Level: Error
User: N/A
OpCode: Info
Logged: 8/10/2007 10:59:28 AM
Task Category: None
Keywords: Classic

It then provides a link to event log online help which gives me this link:

But that link doesn't provide any usefull help. All I'm trying to do is set
up an incoming VPN connection so I can access my home network from the road.
But no success so far. Any suggestions?

It may be some software prevent to start the service. Do clean reboot and try it again. Or this link may help too,

That's for your quick response. I did a full reboot, and unfortunatly, I'm
still having the same error. I did some research on the internet, and it had
me check for the presence of a few files. Another link had me run "sfc
/scannow". All three files that it had me look for are there and I had
read/execute privilages for the system account. The sfc /scannow stated it
verified the integrity off all files (granted, I dont' know what files
specifically it was looking at, but you probably know more about that). Now,
I do find a new error:

"Unable to load C:\Windows\System32\iprtmgr.dll."

Source: Remote Access
Event ID: 20103
Level: Error
User: N/A
OpCode:

The link it provides to microsoft's technet site states there is Currently
no additional information available. And that link you provided me, I
appologize, but I wasn't able to glean any information from it. From what I
could gather it made a mention of making sure that file and print sharing
were inabled for this computer, which they are.
