incoming emails disappear before I see them in Outlook

When I open Outlook and emails are downloading in (i.e. "receiving 2 of 10
messages"), I don't receive all of them. This morning, it said I was getting
10, and I saw only 2. They are not going to other folders such as deleted,
junk, etc.
HELP!!!
 
Do you have any rules enabled? Are you scanning mail with an antivirus or
antispam scanner?

Version of Outlook? How many email accounts do you have setup in outlook?
