incoming calls interrupt internet connection

When an incoming call comes in it knocks me out of my dialup internet
connection. How do I prevent this? I'm in XP Home.

Hi Jeff;
Do you have call waiting on your phone? If so the incoming beep will
interupt your dialup session. To stop that place *70, before the number
that you dial for your service. That will disable call waiting for that
call only.
