Includes and Microsoft Expression Web Designer

I am purchasing and installing a Front Page template that uses 'includes'.
Does Microsoft Expression Web Designer use 'includes'? If not, what would I
need to do to the template to bring it up to date to the structuring of
websites that Expressions will build?

Also, are Front Page extensions needed for 'includes' to work properly? I
understand Expression does not use extensions and if I'm on a website that
eventually moves away from having FP extensions installed then I wondering if
includes would continue to work.

Thanks

Yes.

No.

But I sense that you may be asking this - will my legacy site that uses FP
includes work in EWD? And I am thinking it may not. But someone will jump
in here, I am sure.

Yes, Murray, you sense correctly. Will my legacy site that uses FP includes
work in EWD???

I just looked. I believe it will. The markup that EWD inserts is pretty
much the same. Why not download it and try for yourself? 8)
