Include Page" Feat. w/ Shared Borders

I have a question regarding using the "Include Page" Feature, with "Shared
Borders" using Front Page 2000. I have this web site that will have a
consistent top nav bar, but the left side nav bar will vary, depending on
what section you are looking at. The problem is that I'm using shared
borders, and when I include one side nav bar on one page (even though the
shared border settings are set for the current page, not the entire web
site), it still changes the left side nav for all my pages.

Do you have any advice?

don't use shared left border...use a table column there instead, with the nav bar inside it. you can use multiple nav bars btw...child under home, global etc all in the left table column.

hth.

If I use a table column, then will it not update my nav bar automatically to
each page that uses it? Also I want the page to be able to load fast, cause
when you use page includes the page only needs to load once. I also don't
understand what you mean by .... child under home, global etc all in the
left table column. I have never heard of those terms. Can you explain
please?

Thanks,

Lauren

yes it will - just remember to add the pages in Navigation View

you really don't need to do it as an include - includes are very cool but you don't need it for this...in fact it may not even work this way.

once you add the nav bar it will be replaced by text that says; add page in Nav. View, once you add the page in nav. view and go back to that page you will then see the nav buttons based upon your navigation structure. IE...how you added them to pages in Nav. View...Mommy Page, Child Page, like a family tree. You will have to play with this to understand it, because it's harder to explain than to just do it.
