InCD helper not working

Richard

I had to re-install the Vista OS to get my update working and now I can't
get my sound working because it said "The InCD helper service is present but
failed to start. InCD cannot start. I tried to start it in services but it
said look in to event viewer and I couldn't find anything or I'm not looking
in the right place. Any ideas?

It's Nero's packet writing utility for formatting and reading their version
of UDF CDs. Can auto load and runs in the background if installed. Nothing
to do with audio but older versions may not be compatible with Vista and it
would conflict with other companies versions of similar software, like Drag
to Disk or DirectCD.

Reinstalling Vista would require reinstalling the software that was on the
computer, including InCD. Depending on how the Vista installation was done
(in-place repair or clean) it may also require reinstalling some or all of
the hardware drivers, hence the lack of audio.
