My inbox showed up empty this morning. On the left, next to the inbox tab
it says I have (12) new messages however the main screen is blank and says
"there are no items in this view". It isn't showing any of the unread
messages OR the read messages I have saved in my inbox. It keeps recieving
emails as this morning I only had (4) new...now (12) however I cannot find
them anywhere to read. I have checked all the settings and everything is the
same??

"No items in this view" implies that you have a limiting 'view' applied.
With the Inbox folder open, go to View, Current View, select "Show All Messages".

Thx for your reply Gary however, it is set to "show all messages" that was
one of the first things I checked. I also tried uninstalling my
anti-virus/sypware and that didn't work either??

Which antivirus software? Any uninstall of a Norton or McAfee
antivirus product requires using their special removal utility.

If no improvement after uninstalling your antivirus, consider
upgrading to Windows Live Mail, because it is less prone to
suffering bad effects from aggressive antivirus programs.

No...it was malwarebytes. I also had windows live one care. I complete;y
removed malwarebytes and uninstalled one care...did the extra clean-up and
then reinstalled...nothing.

I'll see if I can figure out windows live mail.

Another question....for the last month or so I keep getting the update
pop-up for IE 8 however everytime I've downloaded it...my IE doesn't work
anymore...I've had to uninstall it to get IE to work again. Any idea why
this is?

One thing I've noticed: If your email server has told Windows Mail
it has some new messages, they will be included in the total message
count; however, if they haven't been downloaded yet, Windows
Mail can't show you any more information about these messages.

If this is the problem, click on Tools, then Send and Receive, then
Send and Receive All, and it should make an extra effort to download
those messages.

Also, do you have the Free Google Toolbar installed (not just one or
links that take you to a Google site? If so, you may need to
uninstall Free Google Toolbar also.
