Inbox problem

My Inbox shows (1) message as unread. However there are no messages that are
unread. How do I fix this?

Try the following key sequence, while viewing the inbox, left Alt, V, V, G.

Can you see the message now?

Same sequence to revert to your original view.

I tried the sequence you suggested, but this did not fix the problem. There is no message, but the index on the left of the screen says that there is one message. That's what I wish to eliminate.
