Inbox shows (1) with no new message

I should have gotten a confirmation fax email yesterday, but it never came
in. I know the fax made it, therefore I should have gotten one. What I got
instead, is a (1) showing that I had one unread email, but no email. I am
positive it is this confirmation email, but I cannot find it in the inbox.
This has happend before and the (1) stayed for months.

Is there anyway to fix this?

Try View | Current View | Show all messages while in that folder. If that
doesn't help, then try compacting and repairing the database (see
www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/)

When this happens to me it usually means it went to the junk folder. If you
close mail program and reopen it the 1 message should say 0.
