inbox search doesn't return current results

environment: xp pro sp2, outlook 2k3, exchange 2k3 sp2
let me 'splain. no, it is too much, let me sum up:

i recently migrated exchange from one server to another, moved mailboxes,
the whole shebang. everything seems fine. we're running just fine.

one user, however, is having an issue with outlook. mail is flowing just
fine, but when he searches on his inbox, the results only show emails from
before the migration. even though his inbox is receiving emails and he can
see and open them as per normal.

any thoughts? it's as if search isn't considering emails after the migration.

thank you,

ross

Some times I have had odd things like this with Outlook and simply recreating
the profile fixes it. Don't copy the outlook profile but do a new one and
then select it as the default. Then try your search. As I said, not a
technical answer but it has worked many times for me!

thanks for the idea, although i've already done that. deleted the old
profile, recreated a new one with a completely different name. still can't
find new emails.

it seems to be isolated to this one user. other users (including myself)
can search just fine and the results include emails since the migration.

hmm.

an interesting additional observation.

this user also has access to someone else's inbox. this user can open the
other inbox and do a search, or 'look for', on that inbox and the results
return correctly.

hmm.
