Inbox repair tool - file not valid

I am getting a message (Outllok 2002) that there is an error in a file. "Quit
all email apps. and run the Inbox repair tool. I try to run the reapait tool
and I get a message that the file I specifed is not valid?
 
What file did you specify then...? Is it your PST file? How large is it?
