Inbox problems, messages auto-deleted upon closing, etc.

I upgraded to IE6 several months back, and after doing that Outlook Express
stopped working correctly. I can start OE, it will retrieve messages, but
locks up when I start trying to open them. Then once I close OE and reopen
it, all my messages are gone, whether they've been read or not.
